WJ bumper

what are the cheapest, yet strongest and best looking bumpers for the WJ? not looking for a winch, but definitely something strong




also, if i decide to put a normal factory bumper on, which year bumpers (99-04) would fit my 99?

Mine is a Kennesaw mountain Accessory bumper, probably the cheapest, but they are having problems getting them out in a timely mannet.

As for factory, your's is a one piece bumper so you can pretty much pick any 99-04 bumper. Later years they were two pieces, I believe starting in 01, not positive on that one though.

so $410 for plain bumper? what do you all have added to your bumper for more cost? lights, grill guard, and tow points?

i just searched for well over an hour, just wanted to know the cheapest. also wanted to know about the compatibility with the factory bumper

I've got the Fog lights, and D rings, and the XJ grill guard on mine

That's cold...

I think in the end I'm going to keep that bumper but have a receiver hitch welded in. That way I can buy a winch and mount it to one of those reciever tray's and I can use it front or rear when I need it. Until I need it, I can simply keep it mounted in the rear by my C02 tank.

I don't want to run a winch... a lot of money for something that does not help you wheel... just get unstuck.

But your not wheeling if your stuck, if your stuck your immobile. I see your point though but remember those parking bumps at the mall can be a ***** sometimes, a winch could come in handy to get you off those trecherous obstacles

I am just saying at this point in my Jeep building I would rather have a full case locker for that money.

That's a given, I'm kind of at a stand still as well. Can't go to 33's until I regear, don't want to go to 33's with the quadradrive. If I ditch the QD and go with lockers I would rather just upgrade to the Rear 9" and Front D44, with the proper gearing and lockers too, then if I was changing TC's might as well go with an atlas. And then all this just to run the same dificulty trails I'm running now Although if I went to all that trouble I'd just go ahead and run 37's So I might do something a little harder, who know's.
