WJ: 4" and 32"s - trimming? and post pics!

I'm thinking about upgrading to a 4" IRO lift (maybe long arms or just adjustable short arms- haven't decided yet). Will 265/75-16 MTs (probably Kumho) on 5" back spacking fit with out rubbing? How much trimming will be involved.

I had some 31"s on wheels with 4" BS and in reverse they rubbed bad when turning. I can't have any of that this time. Will I run that risk? Should I stick with 31"s at 4" of lift or what?

and, if you have a WJ with a 4" lift and 32"s, post pics please

I had to trim an inch of the bottom of the front plastic bumper behind the fog lights and I dont rub at all anymore. I trimmed with a razor knife and it only took a few minutes to do and you cant even see ware i trimmed unless you really look for it. Some pics in my gallery.

I am Running 265/70/16. Not quite as tall on my WJ, with a 2" lift. I had some rubbing on full crank, solved it by welding stops on. No rubbing at all, and they are mounted on Stock Rims, not sure of the backspacing on them.

285/75R16 and 4" SA lift.








Extended bumpstops and bumper trimming and you'd be fine. (no extended bumpstops there)

pancake: how is the ride on short arms? how much trimming was needed, any METAL trimming?

I already have the bottom part of my bumper trimmed i just don't want to be cutting it to shreds. I also want to keep my fog lights intact, my tires have busted them one too many times. Do you have fogs?

on that trip I ripped out both my fogs and both pumps from my windshield washer fluid res. The ride was ****, im not gunna lie. Im runnin claytons now and am much happier with it. With bumpstops no sheetmetal trimming would be needed.

THE Ride is great for what I was looking for, it handles great on the road and great offroad, but i just started getting bump steer issues when i hit the rite bump my wheel shakes for a few seconds, but it only happend a few times, so im getting a steering stablizer to see if that will help.

i'm rollin 4in on short arms, the ride is ok. and i clear 265 75 r16s on stock wheels with rubbing on the LCAs at full lock turns. I dont disconnect my swaybar and can still get my tires up in the fender on flex. its great! go for it

3.5 in lift with 265/70/17 (small 32") on my stock Silverblade 4 (minor trimming)

3.5 in lift with 255/75/17 (32") on JK 17in Moabs
