you're all probably going to think I'm an idiot.

I'm running 2 700FF hellas, I'm not sure if they're 55 watt, or 100. They're pretty damn bright so probably 100 watt..
but this is where you're all going to think I'm an idiot. I'm running regular speaker wiring for the lights. I have the positive going straight to a little switch in the interior from the battery with a 15 amp fuse, then another wire running straight to the lights.

The switch does get a little hot (there's an L.E.D. in the switch to let me know when it's on/off) but I haven't really had any heat problems or anything

running power directly through a switch can be bad, but not always.

As for the lights? I can't really tell you. I've got the 700FF's on the front of mine and love the hell out of them. And I'm using the stock wiring (700FF's are 55W).
The stock wiring is beefy enough for those? if that is the case, i'll stick with the 55w units and get the 100w for up top.

Are they really that bright?

The stock fog lights that I replaced with my 700FF's were 55W each, so yeah. The stock wiring already goes through a relay.

I've got Sylvania Silver Stars in my headlights (not that that means much in a ZJ) and my Hellas completely drown out even my high beams. So yeah, they are incredibly bright. Not anywhere near as bright as the KC Daylighter 130W's I had on my CJ, but they are certainly the brightest 55W light I've seen in quite a while. And since Walmart sells them for $60 a pair...

I have the Hella 700FFs on my ZJ and they are bright as hell. They are 55w only and drown out my headlights, which are 100w a piece with wire harness upgrade, and my fog lights, that are 55w each.

Nice bumper... just installed the same one. i haven't chosen lights yet, because as I was searching the internet on friday, I got a virus from e-bay and fried my computer. (note: i'm at work now). so i need to fix that now. I'll look at the KC as well.
