does anyone else have a problem with their windows freezing shut?

rig is an 04 WJ.

Even after a 30 minute ride with the cabin warm they would not open.

Sounds like once you get them open, you need to spray the channels with some silicone stuff.

Have you knocked away all the ice at the base of the window? Mine haven't had a problem but then again mine is garaged most of the time except when at work...

I've noticed the windows on my WJ seem to freeze real easy.

I just bang on the glass on the inside all the way around the edges. Seems to do the trick usually.

I was kinda wondering why you would want them down if it's cold enough to freeze them shut anyway

So your the one I curse at when I run over it and it strings down the side of my jeep, and it takes an hour to get off

You know our WJ's has that nifty little tissue holder in tho console, you could just wrap it up in one of those.

There's a spray that rain-X sells, but others are similar. It's a windshield de-icing spray. It doesn't hurt paint or plastics (supposedly).

Peel back you seals and spray the heck out of the area.

Works in locks, too.

lol YES I that always happens to me. i live in MA. Watch out for the wipers too, becuase if you try to turn them on when they are frozen, you will fry the motors! Thats $200 donw the drain there.
Also, my door handles always get frozen to, and it takes me all my force to push that button in to open the door. Sometimes my keyhole gets frozen too.

GC guys are lucky, you can pull your windshield wipers up to keep them from freezing to the windshield. Every thing was frozen on my XJ the other day because we had flooding rains during the day and then it droppped down into the teens at night. The latch for the doors was even frozen, my back door didnt stay closed and was flopping around goin down the road
