Window vent visors

I am planning to install vent visors in my 01WJ.
I'd like to use the in channel type and I'd like to know if they will interfere
with the windows closing.
What happens to the window seal, does it have to be removed?
If not how wiil the visor fit?

We put the Weathertech vent visors on both of our WJs.

They do not not interfere with with the windows closing.

Nothing happens to the the window seal and it does not have to be removed. Most ot the window sealing occurs at the inside surface of the glass. A very thin portion of the visor fits into the channel and contacts the window on the outside surface.

My only complaint is that there is a Weathertech emblem on each visor that is stuck on very securely. The emblems are not very obtrusive but if you don't like them, you have to work carefully to get them off without scratching the plastic.

I looked around a bit, the Weather Tech are about double the price.
Are they worth it?

To me they were. They look good because they are not "stick on" and as the ad says, they look OEM. They are durable and you don't have to worry about them coming off like the others as the double sided tape gets old and sun dried. Check out the 7th pic in My Gallery to see what they look like on my '01. BTW, I am not connected in any way with Weathertech.

Totally agree on the weathertechs. Have them on my '02 WJ and I always get compliments on them from other guys who have bought the sticky tape kind. Been on for 4 yrs now and they still look great-no fading/discoloration etc.

It's pretty cool how that thin little flange just slips into the channel. I say they are worth the $$. Yeah, those stickers are NOT coming off!

Autovent shade also make in channel ones for the WJ. Thats what I have on mine. They stick into the channel by double sided tape. The only problem I had with mine was that I put mine on when it wasnt so warm outside and probably should have cleaned the channel a bit better as the came loose. called AVS and they sent me new tape. They look good no big emblems.

I'll agree with the weather tecs.....they are the best!

Had them on two prior vehicles, much better then any tape on's!!

Spend the cash and never worry about them again.
