will it harm ?

will it harm my 242 transfer case to operate it without the rear drive shaft installed. its a case with the slip yoke eliminator ?

it will accelerate wear on the chain in the case as well as some front end components.
do it in part time and for no more than a couple hundred miles before you get your rear shaft in.

Ok thanks ! I just wanted to take it to the driveshaft shop to have the rear shaft shortened.
