will a 94 318 work in a 97 ZJ?

heres the story. i threw a rod in my 1997 jeep grand cherokee TSI 5.2, and i have the chance to get a very good condition 318 out of a 94 zj

now i know that the 94 isnt OBDII, but all i need is the block and pistions. all the other electronics are good

will i be able to transfer everything over? smoothly?

I think the 94 intake has EGR and the 97 doesn't but I could be wrong.

complete engine won't work easily, you just need the longblock

shortblock or longblock are what you need. you'll need to use the flexplate from your 97 as the 94 was offset.

The complete longblock is what you want. Do NOT use different heads or any of it. Don't even open it up. Swap over the intake, exhaust manifolds, accessories, flexplate, and you are golden.
