Wierd Q... where's the firewall in my ZJ?

Haha, i know this is probably a dumb question but, is the firewall on the driver side on the passenger side of my ZJ? haha, thanks,

its no a specific thing, its the sheetmetal that separates the passenger compartment from the engine bay

I'm going to try to install a CB radio in my Jeep this weekend and i was wondering the best way to get the wires through to my battery..

and a much, much, MUCH easier way to power it would be to take the wires and put it on your cigarette lighter fuse in your fusebox on the passenger side. Thats what I do

Don't know yet... i bought the jeep with what looks like a magnetic mount by on the back driver side window... but i don't know if i want to do that because i don't want to scratch up the window.. (on the other hand, its an older vehicle, i don't mind too much).

Oh, i forgot about that! when i got the car, (the previous owner had a CB in it, but i don't really know how he had it wired) it had wires going strait into the passenger side fuse box, (3 wires, two red, one yellow) is that what that is??

ha i got a wilson little wi right on top of my jeep best antenna u can buy. good luck tho! Def wire on the TOP part of the fuse if u do the fusebox thing tho, or else u might melt your fusebox (i learned the hard way with my fog lights).

thats weird...should be just one wire, the power wire...sure he didn't have something else installed like a PA or something?? And don't be like my friend and wire the ground straight into the neg side of the battery...destroyed his CB...dummy.

well... there are three. and that's why i had thought about just starting over with the wiring cuz i don't know what's what. (yeah, i plan on just grounding strait to a bolt on the frame... sound right?).

perfect. I would try n follow the wires and see where they go lol. But yea ground to the frame somewhere, power to the cigarette lighter fuse...u should be good to go

yeah, haha.. we'll see what happens! i've also been thinking about a PA... but i think ill just wait on that till i've got my Jeep in a more.. "mechanically stable" condition.

lol if your CB is newer it should have a little jack for it and a switch already there...I bought a cheapo chineese one from ebay for 20 bucks since my CB is a 70s antique man its some serious redneck wiring there cuz everything was too short...lol I actually used phone wire for the microphone cuz it was a 3-wire data wire to the microphone/sirens.

hahaha.. well, whatever works! ya know? hey so, i have a q for ya.. those mods you did to your jeep, (703 Injector swap, airbox cutout, restrictor removal.) do you know if there are "how to" links on this forum for any of those? do i just search for them or is it a specific page?
