Probably a bad Tcase and they didn't like the jump n' jerk while turning, but could been a bad front diff too


or..... It might also have been a speedfreak type that was trying to lose a few lbs and get a bit less drivetrain hp loss. (you didn't mention this was a niner. We tend to do some funny stuff like that with these, LOL )
