why are wj lifts so much more expensive than zj lifts?

on every site that i go on, a wj lift is over twice as much as any other jeep. a two inch bb at http://www.extreme-engineering.com/wj%20budget%20boost.htm is $195 while the zj is only $90. they all look like the same thing to me so why double the price?

ZJ's share almost the exact same suspension as the TJ and XJ and those are the Jeeps alot of people modify. Hence, the ZJ gets the cheap prices too.

You will be happier if you do a Spring Lift, instead of the pucks.

Becuse you get new springs, and more of a lift, A real lift. The springs from the factory will sag after awhile. I have a BB, and i wish i forked out a little extra dough and got springs.

extreme engineering makes a good quality product no need to push people away from them.

Ive used the poly spacers and the ones I got from the above place are much nicer.

If they are "almost the same" why are the ZJ lifts cheaper? What is the difference between the two?

The manufacturors know that you have to have more money than brains to lift a WJ, so they charge more because you will pay more. I think the return on Zj lift parts is there but not quite there for WJs. Just ask Kevin how many parts he sells for zjs and wjs and that will be proof.

I would guess in a few years the prices for lift parts on WJ will go down when more people start to wheel with them and the money is there for people to make parts for it.

It's probably just a demand thing. I would guess (present company excluded) that far fewer people are willing to start modding out a rig they paid that much for when it's still relatively new. TJ's are probably more likely a younger, more enthusiastic crowd, so more willing to drop some coin on bigger tires and lifts than the typical GC buyer (older, more mom's, etc.)

So, a guy like me who USED to have my ZJ as the main ride for the family is just now getting around to modding it up and making it more fun. You'll see WJ's continue to fall into that category over time, and the more of us wanting the parts, the more parts that get made and the less those parts cost.

The more parts on the market, the cheaper the parts typically are.

That's my 0.02, could be totally and complete crap, but it's 6:45am here, so...
