Ok I got the toe in set with the bar I have, I don't think the tie rod is actually bent, apparently the 4.0 has a smaller perfectly straight tie rod and the V8 has a beefier one with bends in it. I was a little out of toe but once I go it back in it felt no different. Steering seems tight, and I just have no idea what else to check. Any ideas?

Mine did that a 1/2 mile from home in a residential area. Not fun trying to turn.....trust me. Nearly impossible, but do-able. It simply broke. No wreck, no nothing. I creeped home turning my steering wheel way farther than usual just to make it around the few corners needed to get home. Scary.

Tried swapping the wheel that took the hit for the spare, no difference.

check the mounts for the track bar, check the control arms, you've got death wobble now.

'97 zj 5.2, some stuff, some other suff, and some things that even work sometimes.
