wait if it runs on top of trans, I don't know

the transmission has a vent hole
does the t-case have a breather and maybe this was broke off of it?

that attaches to one of the bolts that goes into the bell housing on the passenger side. it's a breather hose for the transfer case.

yah, sorry, my droid doesn't focus well in close
ok, so breather for t-case should be as high as i can get it, not laying on the lowest part of the undercarriage
if i drilled a hole and brought it up under the back seat would the cab it smell like atf4 all the time?

essentially, yes.
my trans and tcase vents are under my center console. on long trips you can smell the 10w30 and synchromesh.
