where is the subwoofer thats listed on my build sheet?

thanks to a link found here at jeepforum i have been given a build sheet by chrysler. my 1998 5.9 limited sure came with a lot of stuff!

one of the things that confuses me is the line that reads: 11 speakers w/subwoofer.
where the heck is that thing? i only count ten: 2 in the dash, 4 in the doors, and 4 in the rear hatch area.
am i missing something?

absorbing info on our two jeeps!
the old faithfull 99 xj sport and platinum 98 5.9 limited.

It may consider the 4 in the rear hatch the subs. the ones in the dash are tweeters, the doors are typically midrange.

unplug the speakers you can find, turn on stereo, if sub is still there it will be the only one making noise.

I just scored a sound bar from a 5.9 for $30. I'd like to know if there really is a sub hidden in there somewhere, cause i'll be back at that bone yard pulling it out tomorrow.

Why would it list 11 speakers then? If that's the case, there should only be 10. 2 dash, 4 doors, and 4 sound bar. There might be something hidden in there.

If there was a sub, I dont think that it would be that loud anyways. Cars in the 90's i dont think really came with nice subs. This was probably before Bose had a setup in every car. I didnt know that 5.9s had a "sound bar". I want it.

True, but they usually can be upgraded with a nicer aftermarket sub while still being in the hidden factory location.

I have not found that 11th speaker either. Let me know when you do! That speaker bar is one of my favorite 5.9 only option saying how my 4 door speakers are shot. I gess zj speakers like to be kept above the water line.

Now why would paper cone speakers need to stay dry?
