Where r u buying pcm’s?

96 zj limited 5.2

Where r u guys getting them and with what success?

Junkyard (are they really any better?)
A1 cardone refurb (how refurbed are they? Roullette like the refurbed steering boxes?)
Ebay (same as junkyard risk?)
Online auto pcm repair
Crown (new but $$)
Other

When picking one out, what do i have to match (exact year, engine, factory alarm, certain options, etc)? Will it have to be programmed by dealer or plug n play?

Got mine from Flagship One on Long Island. Lifetime guarantee been on the car trouble-free almost 2 years. Was it refurbrished? Have no clue. Repainted yes.

I pick them up at u pull it yard
$2 to get in plus $35 plus $5 core plus 10% environmental free and 7% tax
Makes it about $50 total and has 30 days exchange or for 6 or so dollars more a few months free exchange

Today was 1:2 price day and even 1/2 off core

And in AUG they have an all you can carry for 50 or 60 dollars day can easily add 3 or 4 pcm to the load

For ZJ same engine same tranny same or close year and same calif vs federal emissions

Since ZJ before skim no skim issues

No reprogram required plug and play

Ran my 98 calif TJ 4.0 5 SPd with a 97 XJ auto 4.0 Federal for a couple days just to prove I could and have it for a trouble shooting spare ran fine had a CEL for no TCM

ZJ and XJ common at you pull it TJ rare
