Im having a hard time locating the oil pressure sending unit on my 02 with the 4.0. And yes, I did a search already....

Here is the oil pressure sending unit on my '91 YJ, I assume it's the same for yours.

Negative^

Passenger side of engine, aft of the oil filter. Its just out of the picture above me, to the left.

If you plan on changing it, a 1 1/16" socket will save you some time and a few cuss words

I would take a picture but my Jeep is in the shop...

Look at your oil filter, and go straight back towards your firewall. its tucked in a 'corner' with just a single harness going to it.

Passenger side of the engine, just below and to the rear of the distributor cap. Sticks out above the oil filter. I know because I broke mine off while I was unscrewing the filter one day.

My apologies, I figured the venerable straight 6 had remained pretty much the same over the years.

I THOUGHT some of the answers here seemed a little whack...

Okay, so the pic I posted of my '91 YJ is NOT representative of the OP's WJ.

With that in mind, I raised the hood of our '99 4.0L WJ at 1:00 a.m. to snap this picture of the oil pressure sending unit.

And yes, I am aware that the valve cover gasket is leaking like a sieve.

So, my question is, WHY DID THEY MOVE IT?
Besides the fact that they realized that some idiots would break it off while unscrewing their oil filters, that is.
