Looks like it has a power steering inline cooler on it too.

port screws into the block. even the vans have the same position for the filter.

you won't be able to use any of the accessories on that motor or the accessory brackets or exhaust manifolds. swap all your stuff over.

Swapping stuff over is about all I did today. Manifolds, p/s bracket, oil pan, motor mounts, valve covers had to swap sides, the part that connects the crank to the flywheel, water pump bracket, water pump, thermostat and I think thats about it..

Dipstick tube was bent, I got it removed, but removing the old dipstick tube it broke. Need to find a dipstick tube now.

Stripped the old motor of any remaining good parts. Then got the new motor dangling in position and routed the wiring harness. Thats how I left it, hanging like a piece of meat.

Couple pics I took. First is the old motor. New motor looks a lot prettier.

I didn't change it the oil pan pickup, just swaped oil pans. Does this need to be changed, the pan seemed to fit ok.

I'm installing this engine today.

Pickup and oil pump screen are the same correct?

I looked up oil pump screen on rockauto.com, same part number for grand cherokee and dodge 1500. I'm gonna say we are ok.

Edit: I crushed the old one in my pics, this could be why you think they need to be swapped.

This is crappy. The old motor has a throw out bearing and its stuck. Bought a slide hammer and it just pulls the center race out, the outter race won't budge.

This project is boarder line hard where it's almost worth it to pay someone.

Here is the throw out bearing that was stuck and needed to come out. I drilled it.

Had a buddy come over to help join the engine and trans. It of course was a bear. I broke the crankshaft position sensor, have an extra, but its a tough one to replace. Other than that its just a matter of putting on the rest of the accessories. Probably won't have a much of an update till shes running (it's going to run right?), and then we start replacing the rocker panels.
