what does a steering stablizer do?
what are the benefits of upgrading them?

When hitting a bump while driving it prevents the steering wheel from getting ripped out of your hands.

if you notice when you look under a jeep and any other "car" that the axels and so forth are totally different. In a Jeep you have all these different parts that tie in together for suspension travel and therefore will need a stabilizer for support. Upgrading is always best when lifting a jeep....but I do hope that helped you out. It sounded good to me

They prevent wheel flutter/shimmy/ vibration, better front end control. And as mentioned in post #2, prevent the wheel from spinning out of your hands when driving over bumps and also, offroading.

A more heavy duty aftermaket steering stabilizer will prevent these effects even more. If your looking into purchasing one, I say get it.
