i have had a really nasty steering squeak for about 2 months it started a week after i installed my IRO OTK cross over steering, so naturally i blamed the heims for the squeaking, i keep trying different lubes to try to quiet them down with no results. so toady i pulled the tie rod off to clean a re-lube it.
turns out it was my ball joints that were squeaking, the drivers side was so seized i couldn't turn the knuckle without the leverage of the tire. turns out the mechanic who installed them never greased them, just put the plug in the lower ball joint with out grease, there wasn't even a trace of grease, so i filled them up with penetrating oil let them sit for an hour, worked it in by turning the knuckle back and forth allot, then pumped them full of grease. the ball joints were installed by a shop 2 months before i bought the jeep, so 6 months ago.
i did it in my drive way, and it was -20c so i wasn't very impressed, since if you didn't know you must remove the HuB and half shaft to get to the lower ball joint.
but it steers and handles so much better now, now the steering stabilizer can do its job when i hit a bump instead of the seized knuckle. when i have time i'll take it up to my shop and replace the ball joints and put new CV's in while i am at it.

changed the oil, removed the oil filter relocator! changed fluid on both diffs, oiled door hinges, adjusted gearbox, fixed fan shroud, checked my front end, tightened serpentine belt. discovered that swaybar endlinks are bad, i guess its time for a lift kit. life is good!
going to try to set the toe in/out today. had bad dw at 35 but its after 2 inch bb with stock fine an then i put the 305 70 16 on an it did it an with help from the forum i should be good next step is ordering the IRO 3.5 benchmark lift kit
About to order tires but can't deside if I want goodyear duratracs or grabber AT2s
