so at 330 in the morning (i really hate the army sometimes), 40 degrees in alaska, in t-shirt and shorts, there i was trying to jump my car. i got hit with a double whammy. engine stalled and battery ran out so i couldn't crank it. so i was sitting there absolutely freezing until my friend got to me.

and i'm sitting there thinking "oh my f-ing god, i just lifted my jeep last night...and today is my birthday..." and hating life.

started last night when i was driving it home after lifting it when i noticed that the idle was weak. my idle has been acting up lately so i didn't think much of it. started it this morning and everything was fine. drove about 5 min and when i slowed down to a turn, bam, the jeep died. cranked it 5-6 times before it started again. drove for about 2-3 min and it died again but my battery ran out just at that perfect moment.

well turns out, the air intake hose came lose between the filter and the throttle body. i overfilled my tranny so i had to suck some out. i must have knocked it loose then.

btw why does not having a filter attached make the jeep stall? i'm a cartard and i'm trying to learn.

I used a small block of wood (1x2) and epoxied it to the under side of the hinge, then simply screwed the hinge to block of wood. Now the hinge is sturdy as ever (or even more so).

New headlights (the old ones were getting too yellow) and a bath.....and she's ready for some more mild offroading next weekend.

I had the same issue on a console i bought on ebay and arrived damaged. I took a strip of steel and used 1/4 20's... solid!

It shouldn't. You might have another issue. I can't remember if these Jeeps are MAF or MAP, but if they're MAF, it could cause the engine to stall because the PCM wouldn't know how much air it's taking in.

Well after changeling out everything from the plug back I've still got a slight Misfire on 4 so my valves have got to be burnt so I guess I'm gonna tear her down again and replace all the valves on that side and hopefully that'll take care of that and I've already got the seals so now its just time. Any suggestions on intake and exaust valves.

Agreed! Unless the ZJ is going to be a daily driver, just go for it!! Got my niner about a month ago and i love every minute of driving it. It does have its quirks for being a 14 year old car, but it never fails to put a smile on my face

Niner makes me smile and my pants get tighter when I stomp the gas

Got it stuck. It's still stuck. It's so stuck I could call insurance and say it was stolen and no one would ever know. It's so stuck I don't know anyone with a capable enough 4x4 to even to to where I got stuck to winch or yank me out.

When I move out of my parents' house, I might just buy a niner, because why not?

Until then, full-time student.
