the ZJ is worth more to me than the money it takes to repair it constantly. i will be keeping her, but damn i am broke as a joke...

I know how you feel man...

My ZJ needs a heater core, 4 new balljoints, a track bar, a new radiator, along with needing to change damn near every fluid, AND the transmission is not in the best of shape either.

I love the thing, but being a broke college student sucks balls.

Second that, mine decided to have random fits of not turning over. Got the starter systme check and ran as good. Shop couldn't get the problem to repeat. So now i have no idea what to do. Hopefully it starts tomorrow

I got started on my "no weld" roof rack finally. Its pretty solid so far. Just taking a lot of time so it doesn't look like a ghetto hack job. I'm using 3/4" EMT but it's pretty darn strong the way I'm putting it together.

I looked at an aftermarket rack and the tubing wasn't even as heavy as the conduit. I'll post a thread maybe

Hope youre not planning on carrying a lot of weight up there. 3/4" emt bends like spaghetti noodles. Especially if your just using set screw or rain tight couplings.

Honestly, when my ZJ runs fine it is an amazing vehicle, and I honestly love it; that's why I put up with all the problems, hoping that in the near future she will be mint

Have you cleaned your battery terminals with a wire brush? What about the coil?

every time i go to the shop for anything i feel like i'm getting ripped off, might wanna check your mufflers for unicorns...

speaking of shops and zj's, i gave up fixing it myself so i sent it in, they're probably going to press the hard to find behave button and give it back.

oh yeah also putting some new tires on it today :P

They say most accidents happen a mile of home, some of them don't even make it that far.

Last night drove myself and the band from milwaukee, wi to rockford, il in our 2004 ford e250. 2hr drive there and back. Got back at about 4am then drove my jeep home. Realized how extremely loud, clanky and uncomfortable my jeep is. As well as loose in every aspect. Amazing how much I love her. Lol

Yes I do LOL

Got it stuck. It's still stuck. It's so stuck I could call insurance and say it was stolen and no one would ever know. It's so stuck I don't know anyone with a capable enough 4x4 to even to to where I got stuck to winch or yank me out.

I am planning on a tire, jack, and occasional various other gear. The way I am building it, there won't be any problems with a little bit of gear. I wouldn't just rely on set screws either. I'm not making any bends. I'll post when I'm near completion. 3/4" EMT is still thicker and stronger than most of the aftermarket rack materials. This is a trial run. I will probably use ridgid on the next one. Just playing right now.
