I did this today and it really helped how poorly my jeep was shifting. i was slipping around and herky jerky in first and especially going into second. combined with driving conservativly i think this fixed my shifting because it is as smooth as can be now.

also bought front tow hooks from a forum guy in the classifieds and washed her. over all good day for the zj today

Took radiator trans cooler and Ac condenser out. Need to get it on a trailer to a buddy of mine that has some machine you hook it to and it will straighten the bent metal up. Need to get a new condenser, 1 jy head light and I will be ordering clear corner and turns. Vht them. Then it's on to flat black paint. I also found out crawling under it there's some rust, just looks like surface rust on the "frame" and every were else theres a little here and there. Wish I would have bought a 5.2 with under 100,000 on it instead of a 4.slow with 227,xxx

Did some wheeling up in Stokes state forest for a little. The rain we got in Jersey yesterday made it worth while.

My 5.2 had 65k on it when I got it. It needed new control arm bushings, new swaybar links, new swaybar bushings, new shocks, and a plenum gasket. I've fixed it all but the plenum gasket. That's next though. I just don't give it enough gas to make it ping. Finding a low mileage vehicle isn't always a cure all for not having issues, especially considering the fact that the newest ZJ you're going to find is still 14 years old.

But I'm sure there's no rust on yours though? Frame anything really. I might see about getting it cleaned up then under coated.

Dad looks at this after we were done for the day. He says "hell your this far just pull the I6 and swap a V8 in. I'd love to but it's my only vehicle and I'm a broke high school student. If this thing last me for 5 years it will probably get an ls1 of somesort

I wish I took some good ones! Going to work on the few ****ty ones I have and try to get them up!

Here's one blurry one for now, I don't know how much better the others are; I was more busy having fun than taking pics! I pulled the front fender back out after the ride.

It's got a very small amount of rust on the bottom of the hatch.

Fixed my 2000rpm idle with a new Remflex manifold gasket. Gave the intake a decent clean while it was off, got a Dremel with brush attachment into the injector ports to remove all the black sticky gunk that was in there - very satisfying cleaning them back to shiny metal. Also took the opportunity to do the injector swap with brand-new 703s.

Ordered a timken hub off of amazon. After 3 sets of wheel balancing (more like 3 sets of trail and error on different balancing styles), it's definitely NOT the tires causing the howl. I guess it's time to change out the no name hub on the passenger side. Driver's side almost broke and killed the Jeep, gladly I caught it before something were to happen.

Now to scrounge up the cash for a harmonic balancer. That thing is definitely coming apart on me. ack.
