Mounted a new (to me) Roof Rack, a Garvin Wilderness 6 footer. I scored this when I went to the All Breeds Jeep Show in York. PA today! Some nice JZ's there too, but mostly the Tub Jeeps! I used SS U-Bolts and mounted it to the original rack! This rack retails for over 900 bucks and I got it for $140.00 NO TAX either! Now to get my tire and Hi-Lift jack up there where they are out of the way! I also plan on using it for my Kayaks too!
I was there!!! I'm leavin in 30mins to go again, gonna be so broke!
On one manifold swap I read about the booster grommett where the fitting is started leaking after the swap. I think he put some silicone around it and it helped. A mech stethoscope is handy too, cheap at HF.
In the pic below you'll see that on the new intake there are 3 nipples on the side that are used for vacuum. I am using 2 out of the 3 nipples to pull vacuum.
Here where it gets interesting. In the pic you'll like I stated above that I am using 2 of the 3 nipples, the other nipple is capped off with a blue plug. Well for sh!ts and grins I decided to pull the blue cap off to see if I could hear a vacuum being pulled.
I started the Jeep, and yes vacuum was being pulled. So just decied to go into the Jeep to turn the air on jsut to see if anything changed. Well I'll be damn, the aire was blowing at my face, my feet, defrost you name it.
I'm not sure if cruise control works, but I'm sure it does now.
So now i'm even more confused, because technically speaking I have a vacuum leam with the blue cap not being on the nipple. But having my vacuum leak is allwing my air to work. If I cap it, I have no vacuum leak and my air and cruise control do not work.
Anyone have any ideas????
