I scored a rear cargo cover for $5 at Pick N Pull today. I've wanted one since I got the ZJ and I finally found a decent one with a nice strong spring. I'd say that was a decent deal. In other news, I went to change the springs and shocks on my car today and found that my frame is rotting away. It made me pretty sad. I also have a pretty major oil leak coming from the rear of the engine which I believe to be a mix of the intake manifold gasket as well as the rear main seal. There's also some leak up front that I can't really trace down. I ended up not actually doing the spring/shock swap and started considering selling it. I think if/when I do, a part of me will die. I hate to have it sitting in my garage rotting away because I don't have the money to fix it up. I also hate thinking about who's going to buy it and trash it with 26s.

Nice to know I am not the only one who gets attached to vehicles. Girls are supposed to be the sensitive ones, yet most see a car as a way to get from point (a) to point (b). I sold my 78 monte carlo (first car I bought with my own money just after highschool) a year ago and got a knot in my throat when she left.

My Caprice definitely means a lot to me. I put a ton of time and money into it building a competition sound quality sound system in there. I was also given the car back in 2005 after my grandfather died. It was his car and my grandmother decided I was to have the car. Because of that, it's got a lot of sentimental value to me. I just hate seeing it sitting in my garage rotting away. What kills me the most about it is it's my fault. If I took it out more, I'm sure it'd be in better shape.

in january i traded in my 2006 ford fusion. my first brand new car, i factory ordered it and put 150k on it in 6 years. i traded it for a new 2012 fusion. but watching the plates come off beat me up inside a lot more than i expected it to.

My TA was my baby since 97, turned every single bolt in that car. Still love it to this day, and got to work on her a couple weeks ago, but sometimes they need a better home. After the A was done, well I put 300 miles in 3 years on it. Sold it to a friend and he uses the hell out of it, but still takes good care of her. I have a place in my heart for every one of my vehicles, funny thing is my 98 zj is my favorite, because I just don't care about it lol.

thats a good story, i sold my old volvo to my sisters boyfriend (now ex) and he totaled it in one week. i wanted to strangle the life out of him because if i knew he drove like a total prick i would have sold it to someone else!

My dad bought a 93 zj new off the showroom floor (dark plum loredo with red/white pinstripes, I6, zero miles on the odo) and took immaculate care of it. He pulled the running boards after the first year and bought a set of 5-hole gambler wheels to replace the stock steel ones. He ran the gamblers for a little while then had the stock steel wheels painted body color and put those back on. He was doing the blacked out look before it was cool. I guess that is a big sentimental reason why I like the 93-93 body style so much. When he passed, it went to mom and she drives it to this day.

I bought my 95 lmtd in 2008 and then a 94 lmtd in 2010. Both are 5.2's and I enjoy driving each of them. Even working on the occasional bug or doing upgrades is ok as long as I have one running reliabely while the other is down. Kinda strange cause I can count the number of people who have driven them on one hand with 2 fingers to spare. I would take a bullet to save my best friend with out hesitation, but he would have to ask twice to borrow the jeep

Lol my 97 4.0 did the same with the front right turn/parking light. Anytime I had my parking lights the right turn indicator glowed slightly. The turn signal still worked properly. Like you said, the filament of my parking had T tapped onto the center of my turn. I took the bulb into work to show my fellow electricians, I'm Gunna try to find it and upload a pic! It was a cheap auto zone replace my, what was yours?

Sold my sister's 97 5.2 tonight. Sold it to (practically) family, so I know it will be treated well and any work will be done by me. Even though it wasn't my Jeep, it still kinda sucked seeing it leave. 100k miles over 8-9 years and only needed a radiator, tires, and a tune up. It's one hell of a Jeep.

The base is removed by the silver trim nut with three slots in it. I usually use small channel locks open all the way squeezing two of the notches...
