Are ZJs really getting that old where people are starting to "restore" them? That's awesome, I'm keeping mine forever.

I have decided to sack up and get everything armored. I plan on getting the IRO transfer case skid so it'll work with the 3 piece crossmember for their long arm setup. Then I'm planning on the Rusty's Offroad Engine/Tranny skid and Rusty's gas tank skid. Anyone have these? They are the cheapest (cost) out there, but I'm hoping there's not a reason for that. All together the 3 sets will cost me like $600. They say 3/16" steel, which is what pretty much everyone else is boasting. I think skid row might be 1/4", but I don't plan on cliff diving in reverse. Anyone have any experience with these parts, positive or negative?

IRO skid and crossmember/ subframe are very tough. I bashed the heck out of mine at Katemcy and didn't have to worry about it. Probably could use some re-inforcement on the rear mount for those situations where you're balancing the vehicle on the skid. It did fine as is though. Haven't tried any of Rusty's skids. My stock gas tank skid took a beating but it held up ok. I'd prefer something thicker, but it's better than nothing and super cheap.

Thanks. I'm pretty confident in IRO products. I wear their sticker with pride. Haven't bought anything from Rusty's, and am just kind of sketched out by the price. Seems too good to be true, ya know?

Alternator went out on me watched my Volt meter drop to ZERO then the infamous Check Gauges light came on. Went to parts store, checked, battery had 2% charge left. Bought a new Alternator and swapped it out in the parking lot with rain and wind in a tropical storm. LOL an hour later, rolling out smiling

ZJ LOVE!!
