Downgraded from two 12" subs to one. I needed some trunk space back.

It's trying to tell you that HIDs don't belong in factory housings on ZJs...

A reflective lense is engineered to throw light from a 45 watt halogen bulb. You're throwing in an HID that is designed to be in either a specifically designed crystal clear housing or a projector lense. Both have extremely different patterns and cutoffs than reflective housings. They don't amplify the light coming out like a reflective housing does. You're essentially driving with 2 pair of high beams all the time by installing even 35 watt HIDs in factory housings. That's why.

There are some projectors you can buy on eBay but I've heard their build quality is "meh" at best. I know a few people on NAGCA have made their own projector lights that turned out well. You do have options.

How exactly does an aftermarket handle work with our shifters? I've been looking at some handles recently and was wondering.

This one was easy. Pop off the old one and this one came with a "automatic" hardware package and you mount it where you push the handle down to select the gear and it pops back up after you let go. Its easy to do but hard to explain on here.

Replaced the shifter light and a marker light today. Going to possibly take the console apart tomorrow as well as paint the cladding. Since I have to disable the negative battery terminal to take the bumpers off to paint them anyway. Might as well do something productive while the paint is drying.

Here's something a little different and rare that I had in my backyard for many years.
Ford f-150 Supercab leaf spring version with front 5 lug hp44, they used a 3/4 ton axle for these. This also has a Ford 9 in the back.
I wiped some of the dust off and my camel was trying to help.

Here's the left side leaf spring.

And the right side leaf spring

View of front left (drivers side).

View of front right.

People are using these in jeeps including ZJ's.
I didn't know what I had until yesterday when I was searching the web for HP44 axles that could be used for my jeep. Yes they are longer, that's why I haven't looked under it for many years.
Comparing the hp44 to the stock 30 you only loose about a 1/2 inch of ground clearance.
Now I need to decide what to do with them.

Only those who will risk going too far
can possibly find out how far one can go.

Drove it back from Rochester to CT with the parts 5.9 on a trailer behind it. It did pretty well, although my cooling system could use a little more upgrading for towing 6500 lbs in 80* weather. Had to kill the A/C on the long hills, and it was still pushing 220* (hit 225* on two of the really long, steep ones). Power was just barely adequate, even with the heads and cam.
