Nope, not light, and my wife's 2000 TJ weighs 4,450 lbs GVWR. And that's with an empty tank!

If you compare them to the JK's not a lot at all. I am always stunned at how my ZJ covers obstacles that give my buddies JK that has the lockers, ect, trouble.

Guess I was just stunned that my full caged, long arm, v8, longer zj on 36s is 500 lbs lighter. Wtf.

Is it lifted? Greg's is going up simply to get longer shocks on it, the stockers give it like 6 inches of travel lol.

His JK is a 4 door with 32's . We do some silly stiff but the usual goal out here is a destination and not a conquest like a ghost town or a mine. Maybe around the lake. Most of the destinations don't involve crawling over 4' boulders or deep water as they were once wagon trails. There are plenty of places to prove and try to break your Jeep but up through the north or even in Death Valley can be quite more than you bargain for.You can pay the price because Nevada is largely unpopulated and there are many areas to get yourself killed if you break down or take a wrong turn and get lost. The sheer heat with ac on that a motor has to put up with is pretty crazy. It get's to 120* easy in the desert. I think I have probably seen under 1% of the land since I have been here and we have been all over the surrounding area of Las Vegas.

No lift? Greg's is 2 door, getting 1.75 lift with +2 bilstiens from Kolak to clear 33s on 4in bs 15x8, but will have another 1.5 width because I'm putting spacers in to adapt my zj wheels on it.

2011 JK all stock with wheel spacers. 32's from the factory.

I see. Tell him to put some shocks on it. I was stunned when I jacked my brothers up at how little travel it has.

He likes it the way it is. He put some spacers on it then took them off. He doesn't want new shocks. Oh well. I still think the motor is way under powered when the jeep is full.

None that I know of and it's her mid-life crisis toy! LOL.

Heck, my JZ is only 753 lbs heavier (5,203 vs 4,450 GVWR), has all that glass, hardtop compared to ragtop, 4 door vs 2 door, full liftgate compared to half-gate, a lot longer wheel base, etc. Both 4X4, auto trans, 4.0's, so go figure... Bet the skid plates/heavy cross-member on a TJ do add some of that weight.

It is big time. Greg's with stock 255s is a pooch. The engine is the only reason I didn't get him 35s. It will be bad enough with 33s. So far I am not impressed with it except the ride, which is most likely from the longer arms and excessive weight.

I'm figuring crank hp should be around 320 - 330. Holding the revs up for the last minute or so in the staging line to cool the intake helped a bit, but it was still lacking on the top end. I think my shift points might be a hair late too, I'm going to try moving them down 200 rpm and see where that puts me (currently shifting at 5400, rev limiter at 6000).

It pulled pretty well off the line though, cut a 2.19 60' time on my best pass, and I still had traction, so I could have launched it a bit harder. Keep in mind, I'm on 245/70R16 A/Ts.

For weight, with me in it, as I ran tonight (half tank of fuel, spare tire, toolbox, etc, removed), it should weigh about 4300 lbs.
I thought it was swapped bc I read 5.9 magnum thinking it was a Durango motor. my bad.

What size cam you running, specs?

The weight is still going to kill you.

Ever had a second opinion on the tune? From the mods you did I'd think you should be faster than the stock time so the only variable left would be a tune. This happens alot to ricers where the torque curve isn't smooth so you end up *feeling* faster but the trap speeds say it all.

Back on topic... nothing yet... gonna take a look at it later and if I decide to be it's owner, then they'll probably be lots to do.
