took the jeep wheeling during the rain storm we had in NOVA on some light trails. fun day quickly turned to disaster after my freinds wrangler got stuck in mud and my zj broke too many things to list. my truck was removed by a ford raptor the next day and the wrangler was yanked out by a WK2 Hemi grand. both are going in for repair tonight. i lost 4low, 4wd (only rear wheel now), front drive shaft, front tires are out of line (25 mph max speed right now)
not to mention the whole jeep is covered inside and out with VA red clay... its taking hours to clean interior.
rough couple of days for my baby...

Whenever you lose 4lo or 4wd, always check to see if your linkages are working properly.

removed both track bars and found out i need bushings. also took off all the stupid torx bolts and replaced them with hex m12x1.75 with flanged nuts. WAY easier to remove now.

Need help, are poly bushings for the track bar better than original. i can order them for cheaper than Oreilys has the OEM rubber ones. what say you all..

Yep one where i cut the plastic fins out of the grill and put mesh over the holes. It was free.
One is where i removed the cladding and the others where i took front doors off and screwing around in front yard. Its a rock embankment about 3feetit high.

I think they're going to wallow out sooner with rubber, but you'll feel a bit more of the side type impacts with poly where rubber would be smoother. I'm of the opinion that polys will outlast the rubber ones by far - and that goes especially for the trackbars. I'm running IRO polys now and when the time comes I'll use them again or go harder like KORs.

Advance has some moog ones that are poly. I didn't find any in Brownsville available though. Some are in Austin stores so you could get them to transfer by Friday.

Do you guys think this is a good idea. or is there a better way i should tackle this.

now.

how it should be when im finished.

Red= 1/4 inch plate
Blue=1.75" tube .25 wall for support. (weld to rad sup??)
Green=1/4 plate welded to red plate to bolt towhooks to unibody.(support).

any ideas, please feel free to chime in. im all open to suggestions as I am in the begining stages of this project...
Can you do a mini write up on how to do this? I have my brand new OEM tow hooks sitting in a box.

What body pins did you use to place the bumper back into position?

for the tow hooks all you do is take out the front most bolt for the radiator support and drill it out to accept a larger grade eight bolt. bolt in the tow hook and then use the left over hole from the tow hook to drill a hole in the frame for your second grade eight bolt.
