I work at The Home Depot, and have read several things on the internet about using Plasti-Dip for various things of this nature. I believe it's around $6 a can, and pretty much no prep work needs to be done. If you don't like it, you can just peel it off.

Here's the tutorial i used.

It peels off, though it is some work. We did a friends cts caddy a while ago to see what it looked like before powdercoat. Luckily he likes it because it's staying very well after many car washes.

That's awesome, and good news. The only problem i can see with my style of rim will be trying to spray it so it doesn't puddle in some spots, but i think if i do lighter coats, it'll probably work out well. I honestly didn't even tape off the wheels or anything, though if i do the rest of mine, i probably will. The stuff just peels off the rubber tires.

I did light passes on these for 3 coats, each coat 3 passes, left 10 mins between coats. Center caps I taped, scuffed, and painted. Rods are one heavy coat. Never taped any tires.

That wheel looks good like that

Badbird, that rod is sick! Your neighbors must love you, with all your projects coming in and out. Do you work at a garage or is that just your playroom?

I agree the above posted wheels look great!

I didn't do anything to my ZJ today, but have planned for the next week:

1. Change tranny fluid and filter (it's brownish red now but doesn't smell yet)
2. Remove front bumper (it's rubbing on my 29'' duratracs) and paint metal bumper black
3. Make a light bar for my lights in the front
4. Seafoam
5. Change CPS once I get it from Kolak
6. Good wash
7. Paint cladding and grille black

Gonna be a busy week and long weekend next week!

Thanks. I have a shop at my farm 15 miles from home, and my neighbor at the shop drag races with is daughters so he's cool with all my projects. Neighbors in town just see the finished product lol.

new TPS, and both O2 sensors, went all thru the darn thing again to locate my running rich and low idle issue. drove to Autozone and pulled a Cam Position sensor. Ah one the last sensors I haven't replaced, we'll see how it runs after I install a new CPS tomorrow at work. sure hope that is the end of it for now, wearing thin on me right now.

Reset the computer after you get everything installed. It needs to relearn with the new sensors. That should be the last straw. Have you dug into the IAC at all?

What temp does it run? Have you cleaned the throttle body? Does it die from low idle?
