I'm thinking about regearing my ZJ to 4.56 and going with limited slip up front.
I would like to go with Ox lockers but I recently had the A44 rear end rebuilt and don't really want to replace it anytime soon.

But who knows, plans change all of the time, maybe I will build this HP30 and then get a 8.8 to build and put them both in at the same time.
I see, thats where I was confused. I have the 4.0 ZJ and 3.55 gears. I would like to have the 8.8 in the back of the rig....be awesome

4.0s have 3.55s, V8s (5.2 and 5.9) have 3.73. Most tow package 4.0s have 3.73s as well.

Put on the Currie upper axle mount and bushing on my hpd30. Also welded the skid guard on the new lower mounts. I think that thing is ready to go get rebuilt now. I just need to buy the e-locker ...

If at first you don't succeed, use more speed.

I'm pretty sure mine was caused by the sensor. When I pulled it the shaft had about 3mm of lateral play and about 1mm vertical play, way to loose in my book. I put the new sensor in today and so far so good. The needle is back to a nice smooth climb with no jumping.

ranger, that looks pretty killer. I was planning on doing something like that in the distant future. I already have a full set of IRO fixed arms. I'd keep the short arms in the back and upgrade to their long arms in the front. I'd probably get adjustable uppers for the back to replace the fixed ones I have in there now too. Then, way past that, save up for a Clayton rear long arm setup. Got any flex shots?

Cut the control arm mounts off ASAP, I scratched my long arms by being lazy and not chopping them for a while.

I changed plugs and wires. I think I dropped the little rubber/plastic thing that is in the plug socket somewhere on my engine cause I can smell it burning and all my wires are not touching anything hot. Noticed a HUGE difference when I swapped these out lol.

Tomorrow I'm starting on this.

That's exactly what I did with the mutt. Cheap lift, cheap wheels, good tires, welded the rear, bought a Aussie for the front, 242 case. Unbelievable machine for less then $2000. It will not go everywhere bruiser will, but doing 90% of what it can for 1/5 the $. Couldn't be happier with it.
