I changed my shift gate and spring for when I put in my 242. It's not necessary to change them but I wanted to. The 249 spring is opposite the 242 and 231 spring; it pulls the handle to the right. The 242/231 spring pulls the handle to the left. The reason the spring pulls it to the left is for the notch in the shift gate that stops you from hitting neutral as you're pulling it back to 4wd. Quite honestly, I don't know why the spring on the 249 was backwards. It seems like a waste of money to build two different springs when they could have had just one. Now, changing that spring is a different story. It's pretty easy to get everything apart. Getting that spring back into place is not as easy. I spent an hour trying to get it before I finally succeeded.

Cleaned my IACV and TB, what a dirty mess it was!!!! Somehow that made my SES light shut off.

Washed her.

Half a tank of gas.

Discovered a rotting spot in the front of the rocker panel.

Called Jeep and booked an appointment for my E-22 recall.

Got a new motor for my rear wiper and got that working. Replaced the trunk lock activator, and had to replace the rear hatch pull handle. Rewired my CB direct to the battery and still got interference from the blower motor, so I put it back the way it was. Real Jeep people don't need heat and AC anyway, but do need the CB.

i got my wife's zj running.

so far i've got less than $800 in it.

93 zj limited, 4.0, full-time 4wd, auto, leather, etc. basically everything except for a v8.

it's ugly, but it runs great and drives pretty good as well. it's perfect for a playtoy
