I'd do a tcase and shift kit 100 times before a head, cam swap. Just saying because a head cam swap is a hell of a lot messier, and pita. Nice work by the way.

when i pulled the VB on my truck to do a shift kit, getting that stupid e-clip off and back on for the parking fork while having ATC drip all over you got old

I told myself ill wait to do the shift kit int the jeep when i have the trans out to rebuilt it or if I get a 46re for my 5.9 swap

dropped the trans pan for the second time this week. after a bad gasket, and a second attempt with some bad silicone, finally got the leak to stop. so far.

also, made a "drain plug" in my tranny pan. just welded a nut on the inside, and used a m12x1.25 drain plug.

we'll see if my welds hold up and dont drip.

Still nowhere close to an in chassis head, cam swap.

Took it to a meet tonight. I talked for a while with one of my buddies who's got a 4.5" lift on his XJ. Got a pretty cool pic before some a-hole pulled a gun on someone and the cops kicked everyone out. People really piss me off. We finally get a place to meet up and not get hassled, then someone messes it up.

Previus owner liked the bushwacker flares enough to install them. Lol, I took them off and sold em. I'll bed like the fenders as the old cladding area was and read bumper. For now it works and covers the areas where the bushwhacker flares rubbed the paint to a point of rusting.

Something sounds seriously screwed up on that thing, or was it just the camera?

The little bit of rattle is the y-pipe tapping the right front UCA mount. I need to tweak it a little to fix that, just haven't found a good way to do it without having to get the piece cut out and re-welded (which means taking it to a shop, as I haven't learned to weld yet). It barely hits at all (only at WOT or in hard left turns, has only slightly taken the paint off the pipe), but it's pretty loud in the Jeep when it happens. You can barely hear it from outside the Jeep though.

After going from 5.5 inches of lift to 7, my rear trac bar was too short.

I cut and welded in a piece of 1.5 OD x 1.0 ID DOM to fix that. I also replaced the worn out bushings and shot some epoxy paint on it while it was out.

The plan is to get an adjustable, but this will work for now so that I can at least move the Jeep out of the shop.

Would poly engine mounts fix this?

Maybe, but the primary issue is that at one point, there's only just over 1/8" clearance, so it doesn't take much for it to hit. I'm thinking I'm just gonna wrap that section of pipe in header wrap so it's in constant contact, and go for a drive, then un-wrap it. That should apply enough pressure to bend the hot pipe and give it enough clearance not to hit.
