Installed a new valve cover gasket and rear CCV elbow on my 96 ZJ 4.0L. Sure wish the dealer would have had a new grommet in stock and had to use the old one. At least it wasn't very brittle or hard.

Couldn't get the rear elbow out which would have made getting the valve cover out a whole lot easier. Finally cut it off with a pair of bolt cutters but was careful not to get the pieces in the top of the cover or head.

Too cold out at 37 but used a hairdryer on installing the grommet and elbow so it went in easy. I did use a little silicone gasket sealer since it was leaking before and didn't have a new grommet.

I live in the woods and right at dusk the deer started running everywhere while the local fox started barking at me. Pretty neat as the full moon was coming up.

Today I swapped my 242 shift gate and a spring from a 242 shifter in place of my 249 stuff. I haven't done the swap yet, but the transfer case is sitting in my garage waiting. I figured I'd do the interior stuff now before the weather gets super crappy. I also unplugged the red wiring harness and plugged in the black one. Those things were way up behind my heater controls. It's all back together... for now...

Found out today a Jeep buddy is giving me his upcountry springs. He is also cutting me a deal on his long arms. Should have it installed this weekend. With my bb ill be 4.5"-5" above stock. Now what shocks should I get? Staying away from bilsteins. Great ride, but trash if they get dinged on the trail.

on the 93 dropped the winch off at the shop
on the 94 installed the bilsteins, its a little weird the rears are shorter then the ones i took off i thought they would be longer for the upcountry springs

now to decide on tires to bad treadwrights are illegal in PA
....and **** that driverside upper shock nut

This. I found a ratcheting wrench is your best friend while doing it, for future reference.

Gutted the LP D30 on my part-out ZJ to scavenge the carrier and a recently installed newCV axle shaft. Had to take the other side apart of course and found my spare long U-joint shaft - SWEET got a trail spare including hub bearing that I forgot I'd put in.
