Haven't got there yet but I'm going to try very hard to get my gm 241 to be in the same place as my 231 is now, and have the same Yokes. If I need to set the engine back I'll do that before running aftermarket shafts. Already putting a big hole in the firewall for the throttle body, just go bigger if needed.
What does the 241 give you? I used to have a 95 Jimmy that had a 233 in it. I know that was pretty much an vacuum and electronically controlled 231. I had to replace my transfer case control module, my vacuum switch on the t case, and the transfer case motor to get it working again. The TCCM probably didn't need to be changed, but I got it off eBay for $15. It's such a common thing to break on those, when they're in the passenger kick panel. It turned out mine was burried in the dash. I still decided to swap it just because I had it though. I like the mechanically controlled cases a lot better.

I used an angle grinder with a couple different attachments... Came out pretty nice. Probably gonna put a coat of paint on it.

Has anyone ever used Ebay to purchase a vehicle. Thinking about getting this ZJ from an army girl but will only use ebay. Any thoughts....

I've got some spare long front u-joint shafts (keeping for now because I may go to SYE soon and may need one of these for the rear.) Problem is I broke my DC joint shattering the cage on my short one, so at some point I got a replacement but hadn't put it in - then I misplaced it for a while. Fully compressed, the longer shaft won't fit in my rig - and that's at 7" or so with LAs. I could adjust the axle to be out further and maybe squish it in there, but I'd rather keep the front end as is.

Haha, my thoughts exactly. She claims it is at the logistics dept at the Army base. I told her id test drive and do cash, but she have me this long sob story about deploying and blah blah blah. Thanks.

I bought my jeep on ebay. Although i wouldnt recommend it. For this particular jeep, it was only in kingwood, a 30 min drive away, which let me test drive / inspect it first. Buying a vehicle through pics and emails is never a good idea. Iirc, i put down $200 through paypal and then the rest was in cash when i got the jeep.

As stated that's a scam. You may already be frauded. What they are after is your info, email, phone, address, anything they can get. Be careful.

As far as buying vehicles off eBay, when they are actually being sold on eBay, I have purchased 9 vehicles, many sleds, and quads off eBay. People have to list what's up or you don't take it. I personally have had no problems at all, in fact have been blessed with nicer vehicles than expected. I usually talk to them on the phone, get the run down on them. Then fly in and drive them home. I like this because I get exactly what I want at an extreme discount, and vehicles from say Cali are a hell of a lot cleaner than a ND vehicle.

Set the date to get the u joint shafts and front brakes replaced. I'd do it myself if I could get the pita hub nut off.

Lift gate struts and CB/Ham Radio

Just as the sun was setting tonight, I swapped out the tired old liftgate gas struts on my ZJ, now I can toss the 2x4 that I used to hold the gate up!! CB/ham radio went in this past saturday, mounted on the plastic console edge on the passenger side, with a mag-mount 4 foot whip. Debating whether or not to do a ball mount on the side with a 102 inch SS whip, or a 5 foot fibreglass whip. I used to use a mag mount K40 or a Wilson 1000 but want a more permanent solution. I thought of getting a hole mount Wilson 1000 on the roof, but I'd hate to drill a hole in the roof, my ZJ is too nice to do that. For now. More important things first, like brakes, CV joints, etc....
