When todd4198 and I changed his on his 4.0, we broke both elbows. I ended up literally cutting the rubber gasket apart to get it out and changed the elbows and gaskets. It was easier than anything else.

On another note, I noticed today that my rear trackbar hits my tailpipe occasionally over some bumps. Any remedies for that? I have it adjusted pretty well. The axle is centered side to side. I do think that the fixed arms may have pushed the axle a little too far back (you can tell by the springs), but it's centered in the wheel well. I don't think having the axle more forward would remedy the issue because it's hitting at the body end. I'd imagine that a 3 or 4 inch move forward with the axle would only yield about a fraction of a centimeter change by the body/tailpipe.

That's what I thought. Clutches...but how would they get to the pan. Is that common. Or possible...they do look like clutch pieces, but having rebuilt several transmissions, I don't see how they could end up in the pan.....still stumped....

I would also check your breather line. Were those pieces brittle?

My starters been weak since i bought the niner but yesterday and today i noticed it getting really bad. It'll turn over then pause for a good full second then kick in slowly and start. Just pulled it and gonna test it.

Also, i miss driving a manual. Going to look at an XJ this week

You drive a tj, we drive a zj. We have more power while you get more shower. We get the v8 while you get there too late. You have 2 doors well, we have 2 more. Ours costs a grand while yours has a price we cant stand.

I do feel the same about my niner. I'd never put anything in it other than what it's supposed to have. If it was a run of the mill 5.2 limited, sure. That said, one of the guys on SF has a 5 speed in his niner. Says he loves it.

If you're going to hack it up, you should figure out a way to get a T56 in there.
