With your engine I am almost certain you have a Dana 35 rear, you can check the center pumpkin, 44a is aluminum. If your transfer case shifter has 2wd on it, you have a 242 transfer case, if it doesn't, you have a 249. Both are good.

Yeah, so is the locker(s? Are there at least two options now?) for the 44a.
And, with where hes at right now on 32's, id personally do the axles before any more lift or any bigger tires, because i think a zj on 32's with good axles will make it a lot further than a zj on 35's with sh***y ones.

well i read 3200 thats WAYYYYY out of my price range right now. and not worth it, is that for a 44a fully built and tires? or just an axle or what? sorry guys i dont mean to be dumb but i guess i can put it this way....

how much am i looking at roughly $$ wise for axles. and your suggestions on which route to go. money is an option to a point. depending on where i am in March will determine. right now id love to keep stock axles, maybe brace them in with some hardened shafts (if possible to get) and just be careful with it. later down the road after some saving id love to go all out and get whatever is the best bang for my buck.

URGH i hate being *That* guy but there are SOOOOO many axle options it really comes down to making it fit or not lol, i really want something bolt in i dont wanna hack wack and weld **** or keep it to a very very minimum

ok ok ok i was thinking 3200 in just axles alone i was like HOLY HELL im selling this biotch right now lol. but that sounds good, the front steering i saw a company that makes full steering upgrade for like 299 or something like that i plan to pick that up, and i have a buddy back home in MD ill see if i can work something out for a 8.8 he just had one and sold it was gonna let me get it for 200 but i didnt have cash at the time, and for tires ill just scrounge Clist for a little bit just for something or find something for my old man and take his 33 procomps to get me going but i will definately be in touch with you once i start the process and have someone to bounce ideas off of

Thanks for the help

44a is a factory rear dif from v8 rigs. You want your buddy's 8.8. Maybe it has deep gears that will save you $. If you buy an 8.8 then you won't have to buy the front, just brace it for off-road. If I was you is call iro, tell them what you have, what you can get, ask for a total.

i dont have a problem calling, i dont have a problem telling them what i wanna be able to do and what i have, and asking what i should do. i just have a really really really big problem when they tell me the total and i feel my wallet jump out of my pocket and run and hide like a dog that just pissed on new carpet

Well, in my attempt to find a shop that would align a lifted Jeep, I got a phone call from my dad. He needed someone to do a dealer trade for the dealership he works at. I said I'd do it if they'd do an alignment for me while I was gone. So, while I drove to Schaumburg and back in Cadillacs, my ZJ got "aligned." They don't have the laser stuff. They measure by hand. The alignment didn't cost me anything but I may continue my search tomorrow to find a shop in the area. It's way better than it was, but it's still not perfect.

A dealership doesn't have a laser alignment rack??

My shop has one of the better alignment racks available if it comes down to it. Just a little drive though.

Swapped out my old a$$ radiator today. Had this sticker on there. Makes me wonder how long its been there.

OH, and my question still stands. Is this skid plate any good. How much should I pay for it at the "U Pull It". any suggestions as they dont even know what a "skid plate" is. How much did you pay???

thanks guys

Installed a Front Mounted reciever for my 10K winch. Now need to wire up the front and back with #2 Gauge wire. Hidden hitch makes it, PN# 65008. It has a cargo capacity of 300 lbs, and 9K line pull. Easy install, but had to remove and discard the front bash guard. I may have an apron welded on the back of the hitch assembly...or not! Next comes a custom bumper that will be welded to the Reciever.

This thing is made to be used with the stock bumper BTW. Here's a link to the install .PDF http://www.bestinauto.com/jlh/hiddenhitch/N65008.pdf
