Is there any 5.9ers out there that have cured this? There is one "sensor/switch" on the upper radiator hose, and one on the lower... I'm wondering which one is which? And are they the same part number at Autozone?
The switches aren't available anymore (although both are identical). I replaced mine with a pair of adjustable temp Derale controllers hooked to the factory wiring.

Before you worry about the switch, I'd jumper the connector on it with a paperclip to make sure the actual low speed functions (the low speed windings in the motor burn out occasionally).

I've actually replaced the fan motor already with the one from a totaled 5.9 that I also have. And when doing so I tested both speeds using a battery before I installed it (the high speed windings burnt out on the first one). Both speeds seemed to work well. I'm going to look into doing what you did. Is there any trick to it? Is this something an auto parts store should carry on hand? Do you have a part number?

??? Not entirely accurate:

I need a drop pitman... I'm sitting pretty high and my OTK steering doesn't have enough slack for my amount of lift. At the most extended setting on the steering link, my steering wheel is about 30 degrees off center. A 2" pitman drop would fix my issue and allow enough slack to center it.

I used the Derale 16749. The sensor screws right into the stock t-fittings in the rad hoses. It takes some tinkering to get the on/off temp setting correct, but it works great. Big red and black wires that would normally drive the fan go to the stock sensor wires (orientation doesn't matter, it's only closing a circuit in this case). Other than that, wire it up per the directions.

Make sure your rears are body down, or they will not work.

Bigger pic or ban.

Did you have trouble with the fitment because the air hat angled towards the rear?

I'll have to re check them, but i am pretty sure i put them the same way as the stock set up was.( body up) What would make it not work?

Yes. In a shock discussion a few guys were complaining that Rc shocks where junk as they do nothing in the rear. Then one guy figured out by flipping his that they are fine as long as they are mounted body down. I'm sure it's that the valve doesn't close if body up.

Sounds logical thanks for the tip I'm so glad it only takes a few minutes to switch them, don't even have to take the tire off!!!

Long arms or short?

If at first you don't succeed, use more speed.
