So the speedo gear of the 231 i swapped in isnt the same as the 249's. I put the gear from the 249 in the 231 so i could plug it in, but the gears arent the same. Red is the 249, green is the 231. I would just swap them but the shaft of the green is longer than the red. Anybody know what to do to make them work?

You do know that the gear pulls out of the sensor if you pull it straight right?

I haven't swapped cases like that only got new gears for different tire sizes. I would think that you have to buy one that fits.

Would it be safe to put a center punch down through the gear and try and tap the shaft out? It doenst look like theres a pin holding it on anywhere

If you don't mind breaking it. It may be glued in. Can't hurt if you aren't going to use it again.

I have 100 watt fog light bulbs that I need to put in.... I'm tired of replacing my Silver Star fog light bulbs. The only problem is, the temp according to the package for the bulb would be 200C or 392F

Can the factory fog light bulb housings handle tha tmuch heat???

On my 242 we just swapped the 249 speedo gear over but they were the same length. Are you sure the 249 speedo wont work? Also, remember to clock it towards the front of the Jeep or your speedo wont work.

Anybody have an idea of how long rear lower long arms should be?. I'm extending mine, and I'm thinking that 42" hole to hole should do it... I've already made some hd steel brackets to reinforce the "chassis", but still debating the length. Any advice...

I think it would be up to the correct pinion angle + where you want your wheel to sit in the wheel well. Without changing the uppers you could get some nice vibes. There really isn't any exact number for all ZJ's
