Today I got a gas-tank skid plate, trailer hitch, lift gate support shock, and a headlight switch all for 45 dollars. You can't beat a deal like that. I would say it was a very successful day at the junk yard.


1997 Grand Cherokee Laredo I6, Running Strong at 176k! 2.35" lift running 31" Micky T's and a KOR rear bumper tire carrier.

yeah, my 93 showed it and my 97 does, as well as my 03 dub. it only flashes when you first turn the truck on, for like a few minutos, then goes away.

on topic, to damn cold to put the rear carpets in. too cold to paint too. i think my deadline of end of january is dwindling down...

since i couldn't do anything to her i vaccumed the floors out and pulled the spare parts to get ready for the rattle can bed liner.

Got my windshield replaced today.
It had been repaired a few times before but the thousand of tiny pits where bothering me.
The new windshield is made in China and I'm not too happy with it, looking through it at an angle you can see wavy distortion.
I didn't see that until they started installing it and it was too late.



Also talked to a guy today about making me some custom rock sliders that will fit on my niner without removing my plastic rocker covers.
And I received a few parts in the mail today that I will be installing tomorrow.

Only those who will risk going too far
can possibly find out how far one can go.

I've been thinking about getting mine replaced. It's solid throughout, but it IS the original. Mine's sandblasted all to hell, the wipers smear like crazy (even when new) and you can see EVERY SINGLE pit when the sun shines on it. I just don't want to run the risk of being in your situation.

Never heard of people having issues with new windshields lol. Mine was cracked when i bought it. $80 and got a new one in.

And bought myself a birthday present today, bought a stone white niner grill!

That's how my windshield was too.

When sitting inside there's no problem yet, the distortion is very noticeable when standing outside looking in through one of the front side windows. I will try and take some photos of it tomorrow.

Another problem that I have is the paint shop got the color of my front bumper wrong, it's a litter darker. I'm going to have pull it back off so that they can fix it.
My drivers side hood vent and new auto dimming side view mirror turned out all right.

Took my first step to remedy a lifter tick that has been bugging me for a few hundred miles now... Changed my oil & filter to penzoil supreme full synthetic (had been using castrol full synthetic). I have heard good things about the penzoil motor oils, so I figured I'll give it a try...

Planning on doing the seafoam treatment in 1,000 miles regardless of whether the tick remains or not. Although I'm hoping it'll be cured. Fingers crossed...

5.9 ZJ... 4.5" Rubicon Express short arms. Bridgetone REVO 2's... 265/75/16.

2004 WJ... OME HD coils, Bilsteins shocks, JKS adj track bar, MOOG SS, ADDCO rear sway bar with ext., Bridgestone REVO 265/70/17.

I don't think I'd consider a lifter tick an issue on a push rod engine. They make noise. Brand new push rods have lifter ticks.

And if it's a 4.0, they just make lifter noise. It's how you know it's healthy

Our 99 WJ has a reman engine in it with under 10k miles and it still makes noise. It's much quieter then your average 100k+ 4.0 but it's still there.

It's a 5.9 and it's never made this sound before... This engine is mean and I want it to rumble and set off car alarms when I drive through parking lots... currently it sounds like it's got a baseball card in the spokes. Not the intimidating/sexy sound that I'm used to hearing from it. Sad face.

I've heard in rare cases of 5.9's having a valve spring break. You're pretty sure it's the lifters?

So last night me and my buddy started talking about Jeepspeed. Somehow this led to us planning on me spending $4,000-5000 this year on my Jeep...........

How did it start? Unless a lifter collapsed it usually takes a long time to develop loud lifter noise. A broken spring would probably have a misfire as well, and also it is a rare case.
