Belive me I know I have 2 (97 f350 7.3 4x4 crew cab,03 f350 6.0 4x4 xcab wifes) my 97 will piss through 35 gallons like it was its job I only work 7 miles from home with moderate around town driving so choose wisely. That being said I still love my diesels and would not get rid of them have fun shopping!
Yeah i know exactly what you mean, used to have a built up 06 dodge CTD, and then bought a 09 ford f350 but with a v10 because the diesel was in the shop more than it was drivable, then finally got rid of it when it needed another trans and head gasket. anyways it was a really fun truck, but in general it was a terrible truck.

Right now diesel costs there same here, but usually a bit less.
I probably end up keeping the ZJ, cause i don't think i could get enough to justify not having it as i still love it but i am going to look at a 08 lariat PSD tomorrow, i'll see if wins me over from the jeep side

RE: What did you do to your zj today

Installed IRo 3.5" lift oddly the new rear springs are pushing close to 4.5" looks good even with the smaller tires still on there. Definitely needs an alignment as it rides somewhat like a dump-truck

installed relays for my headlights today and there is quite a difference in brightness. still need to aim them to get the full effect but they are better than they were. also ordered some side markers and blinkers for the front from rock auto for a total of 19 bucks

Thermostat, again in less than a year. Fail-safe one I bought at Christmas last year stuck open, FOR THE WHOLE TRIP FROM IDAHO TO WYOMING. No heat = teh sucks. But an open stat is better than a closed stat.
