I got a 242 bezel and shift plate from the JY today for when my 249 dies. It's fine right now, but I know the day will eventually come when the VC is no longer good. I'm ready for when it does. I also managed to get some tow hooks and a front skid for todd4198's ZJ while we were there. All in all, it was a pretty successful day at Pick N Pull.

Changed t-stat....possible issue?

Well, I replaced my thermostat today without too much difficulty. I do have a question though....
When I got the one (a Stant 195 degree rated one) I tried to push in the plunger part that moves and it was damn near impossible. When I took out the old one, I tried the same thing and it moved pretty easily with a little bit of force. Is that normal? I've never had to replace a t-stat before...lucky I guess. I was quite surprised at the difference between the movement of the 2 t-stats. I'm really hoping I didn't get a defective one or that the original one was still fine. Opinions?

Not to mention it was only like $30 for the hooks and skid. Finally had a successful day at pick n pull for once. Too bad we broke 7 of the 8 bolts that hold the tow hook mounting plates on...

Stupid short in my tag lights that I thought I had fixed got me pulled over. Got off with no ticket just a verbal warning to get them fixed. I'm going to run all new wires and just bypass the hatch wiring all together.

Took it out and wheeled a little and got some good footage with my new GoPro hero! Just trying to figure out these files and then I will upload a vid.

And my hook up backed out, anyone know where I can get a 242 shift plate? It's the flat plate with the rectangle cut in it that hooks up to the tcase and to the Z bar and stock linkage.

Rockauto? Any online place? I am in desperate need, thanks!

Thinking of a beefy xmember, and adding tcase skid plate. Then making some brackets for the "home made long arms". Ill see what happens

I just popped my 249 bezel out, took it apart and cleaned the paint off the bottom of the clear glass (so where it would normally have 4h-n-4l it was clear, and you could see the bulb under it). Then I just traced the size on a piece of paper, scanned it into my computer, and set a template up in InDesign with the 242 shift pattern on it. Printed that on a piece of transparency at work and stuck that under the piece of plexy (or whatever plastic it is) and put everything back together. Looks like factory. I may have the file around somewhere still I'll look for it for ya
