Had muffler shop bend up a new head pipe for the 4.0. Used 2.25 pipe didnt fit so well as the jeep was on the lift at work and the pipe bender was a town away had to dice up the pipe increase some angles and change some turns worked mint. Pulled intake and exhaust manifold welded up cracked exhaust manifold installed new intake/exhaust gasket installed magna flow muffler sounds good especially with no exhaust leaks! I also cleaned the throttle body thouroghly made sure all vacume passages were open now she idles like a champ. On the to do list. Rear upper trailing arms, valve cover gasket, steering stabilizer, front brakes, rear wiper motor repair, rear light failure although all lights work, complete fluid change.
Hey ZJ5point2GCL I know the 5.2 has a drinking problem but the cost of diesel will put right back in the same situation if your not careful unless your getting a VW TDI 35MPG (bastards) you will still need a loan to fill it lol. Belive me I know I have 2 (97 f350 7.3 4x4 crew cab,03 f350 6.0 4x4 xcab wifes) my 97 will piss through 35 gallons like it was its job I only work 7 miles from home with moderate around town driving so choose wisely. That being said I still love my diesels and would not get rid of them have fun shopping!
