Yes. Bad idea. They are MADE for eachother. They MUST be replaced in sets. Find a complete set of gears and setup the diff (which will cost more money than you probably want to spend) or just find another complete axle with the same ratio and put it under the Jeep.

Does that say locker on the diff cover (8.8)? I assume it means lsd, or did you get lucky?

Yeah it says locker I asked for one without LSD because they had 3 on the lot and I wanted a 97+ because pretty sure that's the years that came with 31 spline shafts. And my buddy got it for me cause I was at work and he was going anyways to pick up fogs for his truck. He told them no locker too and they said it didn't. I am going to call tomorrow and see if it voids the return to pop the cover and check and if so, I will drive out and swap but it's 30 miles away so it's not close haha.

This is what it looked like, now it's up about 4" higher.

Finally got around to installing a 32 tooth speedometer gear so now my speedometer reads right.

When pulling my grille guard the other day I dinged the left front finder, so I took my jeep over to Ding Masters today and had all of the dings removed. I now have a Niner with no dents or dings and almost perfect paint.
Here's what she looks like, For some reason this shot makes the front tire look skinny.

It is one of the most beautiful ZJs I've ever seen. Keep up the good work!

Mounted the bumper to spark more ideas. Still not done though. Also got the new Cooper STT's. Love them currently, review to follow in a year.

You drive a tj, we drive a zj. We have more power while you get more shower. We get the v8 while you get there too late. You have 2 doors well, we have 2 more. Ours costs a grand while yours has a price we cant stand.

That's taking it too far. I had to transport mine while doing engine work once, and it had to ride on the back of a hybrid tow truck I felt so bad for it being emasculated on this big blue and green truck with puffy clouds all over it, and gave it a big hug upon arrival. At least I didn't have to ride in the truck with it, and got to drive over in Compcrasher86's lifted WJ.

I'm excited! I'm pretty sure I'm going to be picking it up tonight after not having it for almost 3 weeks. My buddy's shop was really busy the last month and a half and he hasn't really had the opportunity to get to side projects, which is what my ZJ was for him. He was supposed to call me, have me go up there and help him out with what I needed done. Well, he never called me. I bugged him and he kept telling me that he hadn't had the chance to even get it into the shop yet. Well, he texted me this morning and told me that he finished up the "important" things that needed to get done and that he'd have it ready by tonight for me. I'm not sure what he ended up doing to it but I'm sure I'll have some driveway wrenching to do once I get it back to finish up some stuff he didn't do. Hopefully he thought about that and knocked out the stuff that would be difficult to do in a driveway and without proper tools. We'll see if he has it ready for me tonight. Man, I miss this thing... Oh, I also get to give him back his '05 Buick LaCrosse that's a POS. The steering rack is garbage on GM W bodies from that era and this car is no exception. The front end makes some pretty scary noises.
