Removed all of the insides of the front dana 30, and just reinstalled the hub bearing and the brakes and tires. I am in full 2wd right now until my order comes in from East Coast Gear Supply.

and yes, I did put a bolt in through the center of the hub. hope nothing comes off of this TEMPORARY FIX.

FYI, you're going to kill the VC in your 249 driving it in 2wd like that, if it's not already shot. Plus, it'll roll in park.

That depends on the year, my 98 was flawless with no front shaft.

93-95 will roll in park. 96-98 won't.

Yup. He's got a 94, so he has the early 249 that needs both ends connected.

On topic, I drove the ZJ to work, and thought about the remaining work I need to do to it again.

Using jr to pump irrigation main lines. Glad I somewhat cleaned the interior last week, lots of sitting, waiting.

Yeah, I know it will roll. Good handbrake. Don't really care about the tcase. Got a 242 imma swap in 2 weeks after finals are done with. So this is a temp fix until wed/thurs. Don't know when my parts will arrive.

just got a text from my dad saying he got my jeep back from the shop. said it was $1130 to have the tranny fluid changed, bands adjusted, new abs sensor and some other brake work. but im very releived to hear the tranny doesnt need a rebuild cause the shop owner said its a hit or miss. either the flush fixes the problem or just messes it up more

"Brake work"

You got screwed big time. Last time I had a shop to brakes was on my Mustang. $170 to take care of em they said. I come by to pick up the car and the bill was $470. $170 was just for the fronts they said. You have to pay us or we own your car they said...

I paid them, and then the front left brake caliper fell off while going 70mph on an exit ramp. If I had the money for a lawyer, I'd own that dealership. Instead I got my money back and vowed to never let a shop touch any of my vehicles again. Looking back, I could have put Cobra brakes on the car for $470.

Im glad you didnt need a new tranny though
