Try it. Put some %35 tint from Wally world on any reflective surface, easiest would be a trailers reflective tape, see how it works. I'm no expert but I would bet it won't do crap. Guys get by with tinted lights, like I have, because they are lights. My dmax has dark tinted led lights, and I was stopped to tell me my brake lights are stuck on by an idiot cop who couldn't figure out none off my other led brake lights were on until I hit the brakes. Anyway my point is that tinted, painted, replaced with something else, whatever you want to do is up to you, your budget, and what you can get away with. Personally I would never have painted my lights like he did, but thats his truck, and his choice.
