Over the weekend I installed my iro otk steering and replaced the iac. Picked up a headlight for it's mounts and grabbed a thermo switch from a old Saab for my efan conversion. Still waiting on longarms. Bilsteins. Brakelines and frame/axle brackets for the rear 4 link. Also picked up two 7" 100w lights from northern tool for 12 bucks a piece

Wasn't today but 3 days ago I packed all my **** into it and drove 1700km for school, stopped three times for gas and somehow the thing made it in one peice. Although I did manage to smash one of my corner lights due to someone mowing their driveway. At least it wasn't my windshield.

Cleaned my IAC valve with electrical cleaner BC I didn't have throttle body intake cleaner,... the stuff evaporates real quick w/o leaving residue. will see if it made a difference to day.

Decided i needed a good reliability test before a 3800 mile road trip to Alaska, so I took my ZJ to an autocross. All things considered, it did pretty well! I beat a BMW X3 and a Miata who's driver was only slightly faster than continental drift. I was only 12 seconds slower than a 600hp GTR and finished 1st in class!

Nothing broke but I had to run with the heater on full blast to prevent the engine from exploding. The slotted stillen rotors really did the trick when it came time to hit the whoa pedal but the extra friction over heated the semi-metallic pads and brake fluid. The tokico trekmaster shocks kept the body under control through though the slaloms. The truck would lead immediately to one side and just stop with no bobbing or bouncing. A thicker rear sway bar would have been helpful. I could have put some Cobra rims with sticky tires and swapped the generic brake fluid with some super blue DOT 4 racing stuff, but that would have made it look like I was taking things a bit too seriously :-D

After the race, fuel economy and power seemed a bit down so I pulled the plugs. They looked almost new but the heat had widened the gaps to .060-.075. New Bosche Platinum plugs went in and all seems well with the world.

Then my wife rearended me while she followed me to the dealership to pick up her mustang. She was driving a loaner F-150 (OUCH). No real damage to the Jeep :-D

Bkuprionas, the Jeep looks nice. Are you running a 2" BB or 3.5" lift? I'm torn between those Coopers & the Duratracs in 31x10.50's.

On topic: I painted the roof rack, grill, bumpers, side louvers & cladding with black Krylon Fusion & painted the rims with black Rustoleum Aluminum wheel paint to remove the cheap looking, bling-bling gold trim. Debating over buffing out or running black pinstriping over the painted on gold pinstripes. I think I'm going to do the badging in black too.

I'll do the calipers black when I do the brakes next week & I'm going to get that VHT Night Shades stuff to smoke the tail light & front lights too.
