^^^ It's Silver touch up paint, actually. My wife's touch. I wouldn't have gone to the trouble since these wheels will be covered in mud most of the time.

What I WILL be doing to my ZJ today:
Trying to put on this T-case skid. Anyone know how it fits? Does it go on in place of the stock crossmember or beside it? I haven't had a chance to hold it up underneath to check it out yet.

I've never put a transfer case skid on, but I have dropped my crossmember. It looks like it replaces it to me

The thingy where the blue arrow is, mounts to the stock cross member. The other option would be that skid set up replaces the cross member and where the blue arrow points is for the trans mount(doesn't look strong enough for that).

Only way to find out is to try to see where it fits.

Supposed to use nutserts in the frame rails, but that is usually really hard to do, but it is the correct way.
Self tappers in the thin unibody rails is a little weak.

That's a KOR TC skid, and you're missing some pieces as far as I can see.

Here was mine back in 2006 (wow...didn't realize I ran that puppy as long as I did ). The whole kit, fresh out of the box and un-molested by me

The frame connection points for the third leg use self-tapping bolts. Kevin's can probably throw together a parts kit for you pretty cheap. http://www.kevinsoffroad.com

Skid mounted, third leg connected to the uniframe rail:

I guess I didn't get a whole lot of decent pics when it was installed, but this kind of shows stuff:

Here's the kind of beating it can take too.

No, it does not bolt up to the stock crossmember. It replaces it.

Stidge, talk to the seller and get those angled pieces. If he/she doesn't have them, shoot KOR an email. I'm sure they can help you out.

Foiled Again!!

Went to the doctor today because my throat is sore, my lymphnode on the right side of my neck is swollen to the size of a small cat or large hampster, and it looks like a head of cauliflour is growing out of my right tonsil. He gave me the next two days off and no further prescriptions I figured since I still had a lot of energy thanks to Monster's Irish Blend coffee and a 5 Hour Energy and as long as the pain was being numbed by motrin, muscle relaxers, and lortabs, I would swap my upper and lower ball joints. I headed to Autozone to check out their balljoint press then headed over to home depot to buy a couple box fans to fight off this 100+ degree heat. Got as far as loosening the right front caliper. Then my roomate came out into the garage and said she was going to meet her mom for lunch to take care of some tuition stuff for school and then got called in to work tonight, se she needed the Jeep.

Thank you! I do have those 2 angled pieces along with a tranny mount he said was needed. Really do appreciate the info.

On topic: not putting on the skid today 'cause I'm Wheelin' at Windrock today. Looking forward to see how the lift and tires do.

^^^I like that idea. One of my buddies is trying to talk me into getting a CB for the ZJ. I'd like to mount a speaker in a similar fashion. It looks really good, and pretty much factory.
