As against it as I am, I tinted my tail lights yesterday. I got tires of the red/amber/clear look while everything else is black.

Changed out the transfer case fluid for the first time. Then I took her to the stealership to have them look over everything, and was told that my ball joints/track bar/sway bar links & bushings were all bad. That would explain my loose steering and turning troubles...

Ohhh man. Millimeters away from $1200 at IRO. lol.

Might as well... need to fit skinny 33's and I do NOT want to trim fenders. Bumpers and pinch welds are fine... but not fenders.

Then I gotta find a ujoint front driveshaft and yoke.

So when i had a scary as hell shake/shimmy while braking at 70 took off each wheel and checked everything. Everything looked up, no caliper was hung up, and the wheel spacer and wheel lugs were tight right at 90ft/lbs. So took it out again nothing happened so who knows it stopped shaking...for now.

And now they're not red, amber, and clear, they're ****ty darkish red, amber, and darkish.

Great job.

Jeep saved my life last night in a pretty neat 65mph spin-out coming over a mountain pass. Did a few 360s and bumped into the snowbanks a couple times. Black ice is no good.

Swapped my studded tires for my mt's, put my spare back on the roof, took it wheeling, bent an axle side sway bar mount.

I think they look pretty good . I'm also not fond of the amber on the rear lights, it just looks out of place to me. The PO of my last ZJ tinted the rear lights perfectly and I'm not sure what he used. I don't think it was typical nightshade, the whole thing was a very dark red (couldn't see the amber peeking through). I want to replicate that on my current ZJ eventually.

On another note I haven't done anything yet, but I did order a PS pump and '00 intake manifold from the salvage yard down the street. $115 total which I suppose isn't horrible, just have to wait for him to pull them (It's nice having a one so close but sadly it's not a pick-a-part).

Got this guy in the mail yesterday. One of the best ways to spend $25 on a vehicle you plan on keeping.

I just don't think you did very well. I think if you'd tried a bit more, or used a better product, you could have gotten a much better effect. As it stands, that looks completely half-assed and I know you're not the half-assed type, EJ.

I will say, I sell the stuff, and VHT Niteshade sucks.

I will give you that it's very hard to get good results with, but totally possible. I used it on my old WJ, but I don't think I'll use it again. Way too much wetsanding involved to get it to look good. I followed all of the prep and application guidelines, sprayed it in a dry enviroment, and it still looked like crap before I worked it over. The tails never were quite right.

Baaaack on topic, I ordered about 30' of various diameter oil-resistant vacuum hose to start replacing all of it. Oh, yeah, it's red.
