I had to jump start it today after it sat for about two months. I wanted to make sure it'd be good to go for tomorrow morning should the weather be too crappy for me to take my 2WD Ram to Wisconsin. I'd rather drive my ZJ and be safe.

After 5 days of grinding and sticking I replaced my seized caliper. And jesus christ, at the start of this ordeal I had a healthy rotor and 1/4th of pad material left. In that time it made it down to the bare metal backing and ground straight through to the vents of the rotor . So now I have good pads and a healthy caliper but one of those pads won't last if I don't get a new rotor pronto... .

Finished the trans filter change and band adjustment yesterday. Drove around today and holy crap its a whole new beast! I can finally get on the throttle without slipping in the 2nd to 3rd shift and it shifts at about 4200 in wot throttle now. Still gets up to around 200 in traffic though. So looks like a new trans cooler is next.

Crap that's what I forgot to do. Band adjustment. Well I have to drop the pan anyway. Forgot the damn magnet.

filled up the gas tank today, 14.2 mpg avg on this tank.. i really need to go easier on the skinny pedal lol.
took an ir thermometer to see what's off temp wise.. it's not getting above 180 on the heater hoses, i think that one short bout of getting up to 225° for a few minutes fried my stant

Sent from mobile, where errors are common and I'm too lazy to correct them.
Gearhead31 Hooah!

I always shift out of 4prt to 2wd then goto reverse then N then DRV then N then I'm OK

I've seen a few jeeps you have to stop or put it in neutral or reverse to get it to either shift in or out of 4wd my jeep is nice and smooth it shifts into 4 hi or lo while cruising kinda surprised it so smooth for as much as I beat it lol

231s generally disengage more easily than 242s for some reason. I'm not really sure why.

I got like 11.5 mpg this tank, or so I thought until I got home and found out I had been leaking the whole way! The freaking pump overfilled my damn tank! That pisses me off. But even so on normal tanks, I usually get like 12 mpg. Don't know how because my engine runs smooth and I am only 2000-2500 rpm when accelerating Max. And yet if I stay below 2k rpm I get just as bad mpg in the tank.????

After my recent two flat tires, I managed to pick up a set of 5 Jeep Liberty rims with stock tires that have about 70% tread left on them for $175, for my ZJ. Not sure if I'll have the tires swapped onto the ZJ rims immediately or if i'll just put the Liberty rims on the ZJ till the snow melts.

I have seen some articles and read on here it is not always as gentle on the skinny pedal you are. It is where your engine operates the most efficiently. The thread on here described getting worse gas mileage going 70 on the highway at about 2400 rpms vs. Going 45 at 2400 or something of that nature. There.is an actual term for it. I'll try to find it or maybe someone here knows what I'm talking about.

I know exactly what you're talking about and researched it a couple years ago. I used to baby my ZJ and get 12-13 with it when it was stock. I stopped caring and started driving at a more normal pace and increased the mileage to upwards of 14-15. It's back down though with all the other crap on my ZJ.
