Well it doesn't look horrible at least.

I did nothing but drive to work. It is nice to have a heater now though.

Also noticed I'm at 185 miles and the gauge says the tank is almost empty. Lol

Some redemption to that fact... it's been done on rally cars before

This weekend, removed driver door, replaced bottom hinge pin and repaired 4 broken wires in harness (nothing new works though). Replaced water pump, bypass hose, t-stat, radiator, and power steering line. Temperature used to run at first mark above 210F, now runs 2 marks below it.

By 2 marks below, you mean the mark halfway from 100 to 210? If so, that's too cold and something isn't right (probably the wrong temp thermostat). What temp t-stat did you use?

They do it to rally cars during quick repairs in the middle of a stage, but a lot of drifters just zip tie their bodies back together and run with that.

I never understood the drift thing. I mean I like getting sideways, but I like getting sideways as a method of cornering in low grip situations, not as a sport in and of itself.

Gave it the Seafoam treatment just now, boy my neighbors love me for that. After she cools down, she's getting an oil change, plugs, cap, rotor, and a thermostat. Got a busy night ahead of me.

The fastest way around a corner is always the largest arch you can fit through the corner at the highest speed possible without losing traction. Drifting corners is slower than keeping traction in a corner. It might be cool and flashy, but there's a reason you don't see F1 cars on GP circuits drifting.

It is sitting just above the mark halfway from 100 to 210. I think it was 185 T-stat? I guess I didn't look at it very close. Could there be something else? Hoses are hot, heat is hotter than it has been. I do have a concern that the radiator cap is not holding pressure. I can squeeze upper hose and move liquid into overflow.

185 is below stock temp, unless you're running it on purpose in a warm climate you would be better off with 195.

Replace the cap and make sure it holds pressure properly afterwards. One warning: you may find some new leaks after this. See if that affects the temp. Also, if you can borrow an IR gun, hit the t-stat housing with it running and at full temp and see what happens. The gauge could just be reading wrong.

Light em up!

Finally warmed up enough to run wires in da UP eh. I took advantage of the above freezing temperature and mounted 4 27W 9LED off road lights. with 2,000 lumens a piece they really light up the trails. Also rewired the 4 3 led lights I have hooked into my Hi-beam circuit.I have a 96 with plastic headlight lenses that yellowed out real good, It was cheaper to buy the led's then to replace the headlights. Now the ole gal is pumping out 11,000 lumens between the Hi-beams and the off road lights. Last but not least, hooked up the Capacitor for the 1500 watt sub and wired in 2, 6 1/2 inch speakers that I mounted on the ceiling above the cargo area. I have a pair of 6x9 orion's that I plan on installing where the 6 1/2's are but I'm planning a custom box to mount so I will be able to turn them when I want to blare some tunes out the hatch. For background, I already removed the cassette player and replaced it with a 400 watt 4 channel amp, the system is aux cable only.
I also took the time to repair the vacuum line for the cruise control, it was melted in an accident with my first, seriously flawed, subwoofer installation. I almost lost the car to a fire, but learned the importance of in-line fuses the hard way Some duct tape and a few hose clamps and the cruise is back in action!

Well, tonight I could NOT squeeze the hose at all. Odd. I will watch it. Temp was the same as reported before.

If there are no leaks or compelling reason to pull it, I will run cool for now. Better than when everything was leaking and temp was climbing past the bold mark above 210.
