Good call, hadn't really thought of that. I'll have to add some gussets soon!
It was a "Damn, I gotta do something and I need this axle in by dusk" project.
Hers is now a Pavement Princess, but you're right, gussets wouldn't hurt!

I'm going to make mine from 3/16" instead of 1/8".
It will be replacing the current mount completely, and yes, I'll put gussets on it too!

I'll take you up on that bet. And I'll post pics in 6 months, when it's summer, with my friend's infrared thermometer. Wanna ante up on that?

Didn't really do it today, but it's been a little over a week since I replaced my upstream O2 sensor, and my avg mileage has gone from 12.9 to 14.3. Let's see a Prius show an increase like that.

Did you order adjustable or fixed? I wouldn't want to work on anything in this crazy weather we've been having. I've had a tie rod separator from AutoZone now for a 3 weeks, maybe a month, to do my draglink TRE. With all the crazy amounts of lake effect snow NWI has been getting and now the stupid cold temps, I think I'm going to end up owning the tool... I wonder how long you have to return them.

The loaner tools are keep as long as you need. There is no limit on length of time to keep them so you can wait for summer if you want before you return it.

Check again, I've always been told it's 48 hours. It's that way at O'Reilly, too, though most O'Reilly stores will allow you to call in and ask for an extension, which is really just an informal let-the-team-know-not-to-order-a-replacement-yet.

Auto zone and advance both have no definate return date. When i worked at advance if somebody had one out for more than a month i ordered a new replacement.

Is $5 a good deal for a tie rod separator? Lol. I've never priced them out. I think I also paid like $10 to rent the pitman arm puller because I was going to install a drop pitman arm. I've decided against doing that but I have a pitman puller at home now to.

So $5 for a used one isn't bad. I mean, it's not like they break.

Oh yes they do. I bent a Harbor Freight pickle fork in half. Then I got a tie rod separator from Advance and broke a tong off. Then I tried a pitman arm puller from Advance and broke an arm off. This was after gratuitous heat with an acetylene torch and soaking in PB Blaster for a day and a half. My **** was stuck.

If I break it, oh well, it was $5! Lol. And 970001zj, maybe it's time for a new seat. The JYs around me charge like $40-$65 for a seat depending on power/leather configurations.
